Make sure to enable the required api’s and grant the necessary roles to the service account. Follow the link below be
fore you begin.
Prerequisites:https://cloud.google.com/integration-connectors/docs/connectors/salesforce/configure#before-you-begin
We can connect to salesforce using 2 ways:
- OAUTH2 JWT BEARER-please refer to below article for OAuth2 JWT Bearer method
https://www.googlecloudcommunity.com/gc/Integration-Services/Application-Integration-Create-Salesforce-Connection-using-JWT/td-p/511566 - Username and Password
Username and Password
Create Salesforce Connection:
In your Google Cloud project search for Integration Connector and click on Integration Connector.
Under Integration Connector-Connections, click on create new.
Specify the location where your connection will run. Here I’m specifying it as us-west1.
Provide the Connection Details(connector, version, connection name, description and service account(select a service account that has the required roles.) and click on NEXT.
- Optionally, you can enable Cloud logging, and then select a log level. By default, the log level is set to Error.
- Under Advanced Settings, you can enable Use proxy: Select this checkbox to configure a proxy server for the connection
- Optionally, click + ADD LABEL to add a label to the Connection in the form of a key/value pair
Provide the Destination Details and click on NEXT
In this case I’m using a trial account and it will default to https://login,salesforce .com. If you are using a custom domain then you need to specify the custom domain login endpoint.
Provide the Authentication details-
- Username(Salesforce login Username)
- Password(Secret Manager Secret containing the password associated with the Salesforce username)
- Version(Secret version for the password secret selected)
- Login to Salesforce to get the security token:Under profile, click on settings and then you can click on the “Reset Security Token” to receive the new token to your email. If you have the old token handy then you can use the old token itself.
Salesforce sample email with Security token:
- Provide Security Token and then click NEXT to review all details (Secret Manager Secret containing case-sensitive alphanumeric code provided by Salesforce for the user)
- Version(Secret version for the security token secret selected)
- Review the connection details and click on CREATE to create the connection.
Now, you should have the connection status as active under connections.
