App Stuck - Persistent 'Mismatch in columns' error despite all fix attempts

Hello,
My app is completely stuck with a persistent “Mismatch in the number of columns” error. The app definition appears to be corrupted on the server, and no action in the editor can fix it.

The problem: The editor shows a contradictory state. The main screen for my table (`Elenco Commesse`) correctly shows it’s linked to a new sheet (`Elenco_Nuovo`) and has the correct 2 columns. However, the error panel on the right insists the table has 4 columns and throws an error based on this old, incorrect information.

Here is everything I have already tried:

1. Used “Regenerate Structure” multiple times. It did not work.

2. Duplicated the original Google Sheet tab to a new, clean one to bypass any caching issues.

3. Successfully pointed the AppSheet table to this new sheet.

4. Even after pointing to the new sheet, the error persists.

5. Deleted the problematic table entirely from the app definition.

6. Saved the app to commit the deletion.

7. Re-added the table from the clean sheet.

8. The error immediately reappeared, even on the freshly added table.

The application is in an unrecoverable state from the user side. Please, can a technician look at my app’s backend definition and resolve the corrupted state?

App Name: AppArte

Table with error: Elenco Commesse

Thank you.

Please contact Support for help with this. Sounds like your configuration is corrupt.

Completely change your spreadsheet to the exact columns by deleting ALL columns to the right of your last column.

This should leave your sheet with just two columns A and B…do that, resync your app tables and see if that fixes it.

Hi Steve and Scott,
Thank you both for your quick replies!

I wanted to update you and anyone else who finds this topic. The issue is now **SOLVED**.

@Steve you were absolutely right, the app’s configuration was corrupted. I followed your advice and contacted AppSheet’s direct support team.

They confirmed the issue and the final solution was to:

1. Create a **completely new and separate spreadsheet file**.

2. Copy the data from the old sheet into this new file.

3. Delete the broken table from the AppSheet app.

4. Re-add the table, connecting it to the new spreadsheet file. This finally cleared the deep corruption.

Thank you again for your help!
