Apigee Release Roundup - August 2025

Hello, Apigee community! We’re excited to share some of the latest updates designed to help you build, manage, and secure your APIs more effectively. Here’s a look at what’s new.

Apigee Advanced API Security: New releases :high_voltage:

  • Additional details for Abuse Detection incidents: Incidents and detected traffic now include more details and explanations for why traffic was flagged as anomalous. This includes time-series charts and direct links to Google Cloud Logging.

  • Shadow API Discovery for any Google Cloud project: You can now configure and run Shadow API Discovery observation jobs in any Google Cloud project, without needing to provision Apigee in that project, and you can attach those projects to a centralized API hub instance to automatically compare observed API operations and endpoints with “known” APIs cataloged in API hub. Get more details in this blog post.

  • Terraform support for Advanced API Security: We’ve expanded our Terraform support, allowing you to automate the management of your security posture.

Apigee API hub: New releases :rocket:

  • Onboard APIs from Apigee Edge Public and Private Cloud, and a move to push-based ingestion: API hub now supports dedicated plugins for Apigee Edge Public Cloud and Apigee Edge Private Cloud, enabling Edge and OPDK customers to onboard their APIs to API hub as a centralized inventory (and make those APIs available as tools for agents via the API hub toolset for ADK). API hub also supports push-based ingestion for more real-time synchronization.

  • Create and delete custom plugins via Apigee’s UI: You can now easily manage custom plugins directly from the API hub UI. For more information, see Create custom plugins and Manage custom plugins.

Apigee UI: Updates :white_check_mark:

  • Added Name column to API Products table: The API Products table now includes a Name column, which you can use to filter and sort your products.

  • Added path column to Debug transaction table: A new column has been added to the Debug view, specifying the path used by the transaction.

  • Standard canvas view for Application Integration: The integration editor now features a single, standard canvas view.

Let us know if you have any feedback on these new features! We’d love to hear it. :slightly_smiling_face:
