404 issue with Vertex AI - gemini-2.5-flash and europe-west2

I am getting a 404 error when trying to trigger gemini-2.5-flash from europe-west2, using Vertex AI.

The code works when I use gemini-1.5-flash-002.

This page suggests that it should be available (albeit with 128k rather than 1M) - https://cloud.google.com/vertex-ai/generative-ai/docs/learn/data-residency

Why am I getting a 404? I’m inclined to say Google might have taken the model down but that feels unlikely…

@pyrexia According to https://cloud.google.com/vertex-ai/generative-ai/docs/learn/data-residency#europe, and https://cloud.google.com/vertex-ai/generative-ai/docs/learn/locations, gemini-2.-pro is not yet available in europe-west2.

Sorry that was a typo, I meant flash.

I’ve heard back from support - that page is inaccurate and gemini-2.5-flash hasn’t been rolled out in europe-west2 yet
