Why aren't logs being written?

When Looker is no longer writing logs, a restart will get the process going again.

This can happen if you do anything to the looker.log file, such as:

  • edit looker.log from vi or another text editor
  • delete looker.log
  • move or rename looker.log
  • ziplooker.log

TDLR: Always make a copy of looker.log before doing anything.
