At Google Skills Arcade, we’ve always believed that the best way to learn is by doing. And as many of you have shown us, the best learning doesn’t happen by rushing through a checklist—it happens by having the space to build, mess up, and actually understand how things work.
We’re leaning further into that philosophy with a few updates to the Google Skills Arcade, making it an even better environment to acquire the skills that matter most for your career.
Starting in April, here’s what to expect:
Focusing on what sticks: We’re sunsetting Google Skills Arcade Sprints and Google Skills Arcade Certification Zone. This allows us to put more of our energy into hands-on learning where those real “aha!” moments happen.
More room to experiment: We’re intentionally reducing the number of labs per game. We want to give you more breathing room to dig into the tech, try new things, and get real clarity on what you’re building without feeling like you’re in a race. That way, you’ll walk away with more confidence to try Google Cloud tools in the real world for yourself.
Balanced rewards: To keep the focus on the journey, every game will now be worth 1 Arcade point. Whether you’re exploring cloud, data, or AI, your progress is valued equally.
Your friends in the Google Skills Arcade: Arcade Facilitators are coming soon! If you ever feel stuck or need a bit of direction, they’ll be there with guidance, useful tips, and the right support to keep you moving forward. They’ll also help you navigate the Google Skills Arcade with more confidence.
Tiers and Prize Counter: New Arcade tiers are coming—and the Prize Counter is getting an update too. Details dropping soon.
You might be wondering how to reach the top Google Skills Arcade Tiers with fewer opportunities to grab Arcade Points, but please don’t worry—we’ve got you covered. We’re making sure that your path to the top remains clear and achievable, even as Google Skills Arcade evolves.
These changes are all about helping you build career-ready skills at your own pace. We’ve got more updates on the way, until then keep learning and keep building!
Less rushing, more crushing!
Innovation isn’t a race
it’s a journey of 'Aha!
’ moments Excited to see how the new Google Skills Arcade environment
will empower us to build more meaningful AI solutions at our own pace
Ready for the next level
I am facing issue with Priviledged access with IAM challenge lab , i did it as per instruction but my progress not shown, lab not done. I mailed skills support but yet time problem not solved . Help me to get out of this , because of this my badge remaining for this one lab.
Looks like the main shift is more focus on structured “games” like Base Camp and Sprints, with badges and points tied more clearly to completing activities rather than just individual labs. Overall feels more guided and beginner-friendly now.
I recently logged into google skills with my old Google Developer Account(Qwiklabs). Its showing i have 14200 experience points! Which got me curious , are they a lot/ of any value.
Let me know if any details/ suggestions anyone have.
In an announcement from Yugali, several updates are coming to the Google Skills Arcade in April to shift the focus from speed to deeper, hands-on learning.
Hi team — I’m reaching out regarding a grader tracking issue I experienced with the “Create a Shopping Agent with Google AI Studio” lab (part of the Agentic Strategy: Discover, Design, and Prototype course).
I attempted this lab 3 separate times on May 3, 2026, completing all required tasks each time — including building the CymbalMart Shopping Agent from a Critical User Journey (CUJ), enhancing it with Vibe Coding, and renaming the application per the lab instructions. Despite completing the full workflow correctly in each session, the grader returned 0/100 every time and never recorded any progress.
I also submitted in-lab feedback twice with screenshots documenting the completed work. My Google Skills account is linked to the developer account I’m posting from now.
Is this a known grader issue with this specific lab? Requesting manual credit review if possible. Please email me directly so we can try to resolve this issue. Thank you.
