🚨 Vega-Lite Charts Not Rendering When Reports Are Embedded Outside Looker Studio

I hope you are doing well.

I’m reporting a critical issue affecting Vega-Lite charts in Looker Studio.
This problem started recently and is impacting all reports that use Vega-Lite visualizations.

Vega-Lite charts render correctly only for the report owner inside Looker Studio.

However, when the report is embedded outside Looker Studio, the Vega-Lite components:

  • do not appear,

  • show blank or empty spaces,

  • and are not visible to other viewers.

This issue affects all Vega-Lite charts across multiple reports.

:warning: Stability Concern

This is not the first time Vega-Lite rendering has stopped working when reports are embedded externally.
It worked before, then broke, was fixed, and now the problem has returned.

The repeated failures raise concerns about the stability and reliability of Vega-Lite support.

Could the engineering team please:

  1. Investigate why Vega-Lite is no longer rendering when reports are embedded outside Looker Studio,

  2. Confirm whether this is a regression, and

  3. Provide a fix, update, or temporary workaround?

A resolution would help ensure consistent behavior for reports that rely on Vega-Lite visualizations.
