Is there a way to add a ticker tape to the dashboard so information can be fed in? Like the old ticker tape information that used to show on websites?
Yes, we have done this in order to be able to quickly push out the same message to multiple dashboards. It’s not “ticker tape” per se, as it’s not scrolling, but it works well.
- Set up a Google Sheet with two columns: Include? and Message (enter starter values of “Y” and “Test Message”) and add it as a data source to your report.
- Set up a table in your report that is single-row, single column no header, no number, wrap text, to display the Message field and place it where you want the message to display.
- Set up a filter on the table to include where Include? = Y
- The table will only include the message(s) where Include is Y.
- Tip: if you want no message to display, use a space as the Message
- You’ll want to play around with max lengths of Message to make sure they will display correctly. Displaying multiple messages at once might require scrolling.
- Now you can easily add different messages to display in the table just by editing your Google Sheet.
- Users will see the update based on the data freshness that you have set.
- If there are regular messages you want to display you can keep them in the Sheet, but use the Y to hide and show them as needed.

Thank you, it’s not quite what I was after. It is the scrolling ticker tape that I am aiming for. That way you don’t have to worry about the length of the information because it would simply scroll through. Thanks anyway for replying.
