Is it possible to show text (action name) next to overlay button please? Thanks.
The action names are displayed on the mouse hover in the desktop view for the overlay actions…
In the mobile view in an android phone, I could not produce that behavior on touching the action icon. Please take a look at the below post thread for the related discussion.
[Action names on Hover and Mobile](https://community.appsheet.com/t/action-names-on-hover-and-mobile/53565) Questions
Hy Everyone, I think this is a bug or something, but it doesn’t seem right at all. On desktop the feature to display the Name of an action when you hover over it with the mouse works great. But on mobile, the name displays only when you touch the action, which is kind of useless since you find out what it does after you use it. But what’s really buggy is that the name remains displayed until you touch the screen again. Is there a way to deactivate Action Name Display at least on Mobile? To …
Hi Suvrutt,
I have two action buttons in the view and would like the user to know what the action does before clicking on it. On the desktop the name is shown when you hover the mouse over the button. On IOS and Android there is nothing shown, the icon is ambiguous and the user has to click on the button to discover what it does. I managed this by adding a confirmation step that explains the action.
The thread was about the text not disappearing, then it was removed altogether following the “bug correction”. Now there is no text shown at all even after clicking the button.
I would like a way to show a short text next to the button before clicking it. Thank you
Hi @KJS
Thank you for your updates. Yes, I referred the thread because, earlier the text used to remain persistent. The thread did mention that the persistence was removed. However firm conclusion whether text is displayed on tap or not was not there.
So tested it on android at my endand shared all relevant details with you.
Anyway, your idea of using confirmation message seems to be a nice workaround at this time for mobile devices.
@Suvrutt_Gurjar Thanks for sharing the thread, for the testing you’ve done and for your always-informative responses!
