Technical Issue: Table Snapshot Not Accessible Within 7-Day Time Travel Window

Hi,

I am experiencing a critical issue where BigQuery is failing to access a table snapshot within the legal 7-day Time Travel window.

Details:

  • Project ID: (PII Removed by Staff)

  • Dataset ID: table

  • Table ID: goals

  • Location: US

  • Last Successful Job: bquxjob_54140d6c_19b4b41b976 on 2025-12-23 12:49:17 UTC.

The Problem: Today is 2025-12-26. Only 3 days have passed since the last successful update. However, when attempting to recover the table using FOR SYSTEM_TIME AS OF or the Jobs API, I receive the following error: “Invalid time travel timestamp 1734951180000. Cannot read before 1766169772219” (which points to Dec 23, 18:42 UTC).

There is a discrepancy of several hours where the system claims the data is inaccessible, even though it is well within the 168-hour (7-day) limit. The table was likely deleted due to expiration settings, but the metadata appears corrupted or incorrectly indexed in the Time Travel window.

Request: Please manually restore table goals from your backend/fail-safe storage to its state as of 2025-12-23 13:00:00 UTC.

Thank you,

Nitzan

I also tried this on cloud shell:
bq cp –project_id (PII Removed by Staff)_restored’

And got this:
BigQuery error in cp operation: Invalid time travel timestamp 1734955200000 for table (PII Removed by Staff). Cannot read before 1766219611325
