I was in the middle of testing out the new tabbed dashboard preview feature and after I saved the labs feature was missing. Anyone else seeing it disappear like that?
This probably isn’t helpful but possibly related … we just got upgraded to 26 but the tabbed dashboard feature is still missing.
We are on Looker Core and I am seeing in only one instance in version 26.x, opened case with google
Tabs released after many years of waiting, awesome.
Excited user adopts them in a production dashboard.
Next day tabs are gone and with them 80% of the dashboard.
This is serious, you’re messing with the time, work and effort invested from your customers and not even caring about sending a support message or a warning.
This is unacceptable, and i cannot even file a complaint.
Find hard to believe that i have to accept this situation honestly.
I am a Looker Admin, and am currently working my way through testing the new features that were dropped in release 26. So far I have had to raise 2 support tickets:
- Tabbed dashboards - the option to enable this simply does not exist on the labs page
- Conditional formatting for string values in tables / single value viz - this does not exist in the chart settings
I was excited about this release as there were some exciting features on offer. Every time there is a release now I have to raise support tickets, as not all the features are delivered. When the new query concurrency Explore was released I had to raise 2 tickets, as I told it would be fixed in the next release, but it was still non-functional in the subsequent release (it’s finally working for me now).
It feels like, since conversation analytics, the releases are very sketchy.
I’ve just had this response from my support ticket:
I have investigated the status of this feature with our product team. While “Tabbed Dashboards” was originally slated to be available for the January 26, 2026 release, its rollout has been slightly delayed due to an internal technical issue. It will be available in the upcoming days.
Our engineering team is working to resolve this deployment hurdle. We expect the feature to become visible in your Labs settings shortly. I recommend the following:
Keep an eye on the Official Looker Release Notes [1] over the next few days for the final activation announcement.
Once the internal fix is deployed, the toggle should appear automatically in Admin > Labs without requiring a further version update.
Re bug 2 I raised (Conditional formatting for string values in tables / single value viz), a support agent has just replied:
I have raised the issue with our Engineering team, they have confirmed that this feature has not been rolled out yet. The feature is likely to be part of the March (Looker 26.4) release.
Seems tabs are back for us.
Going to be very careful and make backups of stuff i’m working on, just in case tabs disappear again with charts in them.
Thanks for the fix and the updates here @ruthc ![]()
