System error when adding a MySQL and SQL blend to the report

Hello,

It’s my first time adding a MySQL datasource to Looker Studio. I need to create a blend between a SQL datasource and a MySQL datasource.

I’m receiving a “System Error” when selecting a blend as the datasource for a table - Looker Studio has encountered a system error.

I can create the blend successfully, but when I try to select it as datasource for any chart type, this error appears.

SQL is working ok, including blends between several SQL datasources. MySQL blends between MySQL datasources are also working ok. I have detected this system error with no further details only when selecting the MySQL-SQL blend as a datasource for any chart.

Am I doing anything wrong? Is there a bug with this type of blend?

What is the type of the second datasource? I’m confused about what you mean by a “SQL datasource”.

Hello Sam,

I have datasources with two connector types, some datasources show as “SQL” and other show as MySQL. I think the “SQL” ones connect to a PostgreSQL database but they were configured by another collaborator and I cannot access the datasource connection details.

I ended reconfiguring the “SQL” datasource with the PostgreSQL connector and it worked fine. It seems the “SQL” connector was discontinued or deprecated and it was throwing those errors, maybe due to an incompatibility with new connectors (like the MySQL datasource).
