Switches in form interface for Yes/No columns?

It used to be that if you selected to use “desktop mode” all Yes/No columns changed from Y/N buttons to “switches” on desktop. Honestly, this was a pain since a lot of situations looked better with buttons. But I now have a situation that would benefit from the switches, and I can’t figure out how to make them appear. They were the default for Y/N columns in desktop view awhile back. What am I missing? Thanks.

Hi Patrick_Paul,

If I understand you correctly you would like to be able to toggle a “Yes/No” Column in the detail view. (Screenshot attached)

If so this, can be enabled by adding your Yes/No Column into the Quick Edit feature. (Detail View)

Hope this helps!

As @QREW_Apps is indicating and as far as I know, these controls were only ever made available for Quick Edits on Yes/No columns. Why they are not an optional input control on form views…we will never know!!

As @QREW_Apps and @WillowMobileSys mentioned, the form views do not have those toggle switches for the Y/N type columns.

I have requested those to be included in the new mobile framework. Please take a look at the post number 272 in the post thread below. I request you all to upvote it ( by way of likes since a separate feature ideas section is no more there) and add a supporting comments in that thread by referring that post, so that the request gets more visibility.

It was definitely the default for all Y/N columns back when desktop mode was still in “beta”. It was horribly annoying. I’ve never enabled Quick Edit on any of my apps because of the potential issues it causes with syncing, but I had an app I built that used a lot of Y/N columns and they were all switches when you went to edit the records in desktop mode only at the time. It was terrible.
