Subject: Issue: Attempting to app-ify Spreadsheet B results in App A being opened instead

Hello, Nice to meet you. I am Japanese and using a translation tool to write this.

I have two spreadsheets, A and B, stored in separate folders.

  • Spreadsheet A has already been successfully turned into an app (App A).
  • When I try to create a new app from Spreadsheet B via the browser, App A opens or is created instead.

In the AppSheet editor/browser, it displays both like “A-B” in the top left corner, suggesting they are being linked or mixed up.

I have tried recreating the spreadsheets from scratch, but the result is the same. I am stuck and don’t know how to separate them properly.

Could someone please help me?

First, we recommend opening the app and checking the sheet in the underlying spreadsheet for each table.
There are two methods for doing this, as shown below.

Method ①:
Clicking ‘View data source’ will open the spreadsheet that the table is based on.

Method ②:
Opening ‘Table settings’ allows you to check the following items:
・Spreadsheet name
・Sheet name
・Spreadsheet ID

Thank you for your reply.

I have checked both methods, and the connected spreadsheet is definitely the correct one.

However, I am experiencing a strange issue when creating new apps. When I was using Safari, I created “App A,” but when I tried to create “App B,” the system kept trying to turn “App A” into an app instead.

I switched to Chrome, which allowed me to successfully create “App B.” But now, when I try to create “App C,” it keeps trying to turn “App B” into an app.

I have already tried clearing my browser cache, but the problem persists. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I’m afraid I can’t be of further assistance as I don’t fully understand your situation.
I do hope you’ll be able to get some useful information from other community members.

The behavior you’re describing is very, very odd. I’ve never heard of it before. You’re likely going to need to contact Support for help. Before you do so, though, I recommend you try using an incognito window to login and try creating a new app. If the problem is not evident in the incognito window, the problem is likely on your end.

Also, it would be very helpful if you could post some screenshots demonstrating the problem, especially, " In the AppSheet editor/browser, it displays both like 'A-B ’ in the top left corner". Please also post some screenshots of the steps you take creating a new app.
