Spreadsheet is not updated

I can’t update my spreadsheet from the App.
The spreadsheet is cell-protected for the most part, but the columns that are updated from the App are unprotected.
When I enter a value in the App screen and save it, the data displayed in the App [sync to compute] and the data I entered is not updated in the spreadsheet.
The error message is "You are attempting to edit a protected cell or object.
Can you tell me what is causing this?

Hi! Welcome to the community.

I tried but I couldn’t replicate this problem. I took a little app of mine and set some cells to “protected” status. When I used my app to change them, I didn’t get any warning messages and the changes were made as normal. However, when I tried to change the Google spreadsheet directly, I got a warning.

One thing you might try is to copy your app. When you do so, the spreadsheet should be copied with it but I suspect that the protections will not be copied. If that doesn’t work and you are getting an error inside of the AppSheet editor, please share a screenshot of that. Finally, if no one here can help you, you might want to contact support:

AppSheet’s support interface has changed. I looked for an announcement of the change in this community but I either missed it or the change wasn’t announced. I was confused at first by some of the changes so I’d like to provided a little “missing manual” for the new support interface in this post. I’ll also offer some suggestions for improving the interface. Initiating an inquiry In the past, one would send an e-mail to the designated address. Under the new system, you use the following f…

Hi guys,
I think one day I had similar situation. @Hiroyuki_Nakazawa take a look at my screenshots.

When you open columns section of that table and then in succession edit icon → “Auto Compute” → “Spreadsheet formula”, is the spreadsheet formula field empty?
I am asking because if there is formula then it may cause some problems especially [sync to compute] problems.
It is only my experience, and can be wrong.

Thank you for the information. I tried everything based on your advice, but could not solve the problem.
I copied the spreadsheet itself and recreated the app, and it didn’t happen, so I’m thinking the problem is with the spreadsheet itself.
I will try contacting support.
