Show Button/Action in Slice

I’m having trouble with a button. I created an action to allow the doctors to add a patient record with limited information in the event they see someone on their rounds who was not initially on their list. This can happen if someone is admitted between polling cycles.

Anyways, this worked fine in previous tests and still works in the old view:

However, in this new view I created, which is a Dashboard containing a couple of slices (one for two different hospitals, need to add a few more), I cannot get the Provider Add" button to display:

What am I doing wrong? Is it just not possible to have a button overlay in a Dashboard view?

UX/Options/Dashboard Views/Allow overlay buttons

and in your slice settings: make sure you have your action in the Actions Slice list.

I just wanted to let you know that I have been fighting with a button not showing for over 30 minutes. You’re solution fixed my issue. Thank you for taking the time to respond to questions here!

UX/Options/Dashboard Views/Allow overlay buttons → I can not find All overlay buttons

and in your slice settings: make sure you have your action in the Actions Slice list. → where is " slice settings" ?

You can leave the default “auto-assign”, or select specific actions for specific situations if needed.
