I used this action to update the selected row status to true. It does the job, only, it also clears the other column. so it appears that the column is blank after setting it to true.

if it doesn’t work, probably some condition you skipped
My guess would be that the Item Description column’s value is computed, perhaps by an App formula or the combination of Initial value and Reset on edit.
Please post a screenshot of the entire configuration screen for the Item Description column.

The problem is back here:
The Item Code column is misconfigured. As a result, the expressions that set the now-blank column values don’t work.

I had the same problem, when i set a value with an automatic job, it also clear another column.
