Hi there! I have a two different reports that go out weekly (one every Monday and the other every week day). Randomly, my reports will decide to not go out during the scheduled time.
I decided that maybe it was because there were too many emails in the send list so I duplicated both reports and a total of 4 go out to a shorter list of recipients (max # of emails I have in a send is 45 people).
All of last week it didn’t send at all. Then this week, it’s been sending like normal. But I didn’t change anything for it to act differently.
Attached are the settings I have for one of the reports as an example.
From the settings shown, nothing immediately stands out as a recipient-limit issue. A list of 45 recipients is generally not large enough to cause scheduled reports to randomly stop sending.
A few things that could explain the behavior:
-
Timezone / DST issues
-
The schedule is set to 10:00 AM Central Standard Time (GMT-06:00, Mexico City).
-
If your organization or report users are in a different timezone, daylight saving time changes can sometimes affect scheduled jobs.
-
Verify that the report platform and your account are using the expected timezone.
-
Platform-side scheduling failures
-
Since the reports stopped for an entire week and then started working again without any changes, that often points to a temporary issue with the reporting service rather than your configuration.
-
Check whether the platform provides a schedule history, job history, audit log, or email delivery log.
-
Data refresh dependency
-
Email delivery restrictions
-
Service outages
- If all scheduled reports failed during the same period and then resumed, review the vendor’s status page for outages during that week.
