Revisão e Reativação do Acesso ao Google Cloud Platform

Hello,

My name is Felype Bispo, and I am responsible for two important projects on Google Cloud Platform: unicoai-scale and konny-project. These projects are critical for managing my startup, and we rely on Google Cloud to host all of our servers and handle essential operations.

Recently, we encountered a concerning situation when we received three notifications from Google Cloud regarding suspicious activities on our instances. The first alert mentioned a potential DoS attack (Denial of Service) utilizing our Google Cloud machines. Following that, we received two additional notifications related to cryptocurrency mining on our instances. I would like to clarify that none of our machines engage in such activities. After receiving these alerts, we took immediate action to investigate the source of the issue and, as a precautionary measure, deleted three specific instances associated with the reported activities. We believed this would resolve the problem.

However, on February 15, 2025, we were shocked to receive an email from Google Cloud with the subject “Access to Google Cloud Platform has been restricted,” informing us that our account had been completely blocked. This is extremely concerning because we have been using Google Cloud for almost a year without any issues, always adhering to best practices and platform policies. We have responded appropriately to all the notifications received, and there has never been any intentional violation of GCP guidelines.

We attempted to contact Google Cloud support to understand the reason behind this restriction and request access reinstatement, but, so far, our request has been ignored, with no satisfactory response or explanation. This is causing a great deal of concern because our company relies entirely on Google Cloud services for our daily operations. The platform hosts all of our startup’s infrastructure, including production servers, databases, and other critical resources for our website,

This restriction is severely impacting our business, putting the continuity of our operations and customer service at risk. We believe this action was taken in error, as we have always complied with the platform’s usage policies. We are in an extremely delicate situation, and the block on our Google Cloud access has created significant uncertainty for our team and partners.

I urgently request a review of the block imposed on our account and the reinstatement of access to our projects on Google Cloud Platform. To provide additional clarity, I am attaching a screenshot showing the access restriction.

Thank you in advance for your attention, and I hope for a prompt and positive response so that we can resolve this situation as efficiently as possible.

Sincerely,
Felype Bispo

Hi @unicoaiteam ,

Welcome to Google Cloud Community!

I understand that this is a highly distressing situation. Losing access to Google Cloud without any explanation can be extremely disruptive, especially for a startup that relies on it so heavily.

It sounds like Google Cloud flagged your instances for suspicious activity that violate Google’s policies, potentially leading to account restrictions or suspensions due to alleged “abuse” of system resources, which is severely impacting your business operations. Since you’ve already taken proactive steps by deleting the affected instances and securing your account, the next step is to appeal the restriction and request a review.

Since you already took action by deleting the flagged instances and securing your account, the next step is to appeal the restriction and request a review.

Immediate Actions to Take:

  1. Gather Evidence and Documentation - Since you’ve already taken corrective action, prepare the following details to include in your request:
  • Provide a summary of the notifications received, including dates and descriptions, along with the actions you took, such as investigations or instance deletions. Confirm that none of your instances were involved in unauthorized activities and outline any security measures implemented, such as reviewing IAM logs, enabling VPC firewall rules, and securing SSH access.
  1. Submit a Formal Appeal to Google Cloud Trust & Safety - Since Google Cloud has blocked your account, you need to escalate via the Trust & Safety appeal form:
  • Or you can submit an appeal to Google Cloud after you receive a warning or suspension notification and complete the remediation steps so that you can restore access to services.
  1. Secure Your Account to Prevent Future Issues
  • Review IAM Logs: Ensure no unauthorized access occurred.
  • Enable Security Controls: Implement VPC firewall rules to restrict network access, enable two-factor authentication (2FA) and secure SSH access, and activate the Security Command Center for enhanced monitoring.

You can also refer to the Policy Violations FAQ for more information on appeal best practices in case of a Project resource suspension, which might help for future reference.

Please note that once you submit the appeal, Google will review your case. The process may take anywhere from a few days to a week, depending on the investigation.

It’s also a good idea to reach out to Google Cloud Support for further guidance and assistance in reviewing and securing your instances.
