Retrieving image file from nested folders from Google Cloud Storage object store bucket

Hello,

I am attempting to retrieve an image from my Google Cloud Storage bucket, per the docs. Let’s call the bucket, my-bucket-storage. This works, and I can correctly retrieve and display images by specifying the following within an Image column’s formula:

“//my-image.png”

where the “Store for image and file capture” is set to my connected object store: my-bucket-storage.**
**
Now what I’d like to do is retrieve and display an image file that is nested within my folders inside my bucket.

Let’s say I have:

my-bucket-storage which has all of my folders. Taking this path as an example:
folder1, within has folder2, within has folder3, within has my-image.png

If I were to copy paste this file path directly from the GCP storage console, it would be the following:
my-bucket-storage/folder1/folder2/folder3/my-image.png

I have tried multiple different ways and the get request from appsheet is still 404. The file definitely exists and the path is directly copy pasted. This is what I’ve tried on my Image column type:

Option 1.
Image/File folder path set to blank
App formula = “my-bucket-storage/folder1/folder2/folder3/my-image.png”

Option 2.
Image/File folder path = “my-bucket-storage/folder1/folder2/folder3/”
App formula = “my-image.png”

Option 3.
Image/File folder path = “//”
App formula = “my-bucket-storage/folder1/folder2/folder3/my-image.png”

Option 4.
Image/File folder path = “”
App formula = “//my-bucket-storage/folder1/folder2/folder3/my-image.png”

And other various combinations.

The closest thing I could get was option 1, which the response when using Inspect dev tools on chrome shows a 404, “File my-bucket-storage/folder1/folder2/folder3/my-image.png was not found in the Google Cloud Storage bucket.”

Note the App Default Folder path isn’t an issue, and I have tried various configurations to that.

What am I missing? Can we not retrieve image files that are nest within buckets?

Figured this out. This was special characters, try not to use special characters within your folders.

Good catch. Thanks for closing the loop!
