Last year I posted the following tip:
AppSheet Parser Suite: Analyze and Clean Up Your Apps
It was a post to announce my publication on GitHub of a suite of Python scripts that allow users to parse the data from the HTML documentation files for apps. As of last year, the scripts were good enough to help me find and remove a large number of “orphaned” components (virtual columns, actions, views, etc. that were no longer integrated with the rest of the app). Since then, it occurred to me that it would be possible to write a Google script to download the Google Sheets data as two JSON files (one for the sheet data and one for the formulas). Then after parsing this, almost all data relevant to analysis of entire apps would be available for analysis by agentic AI such as Google’s Gemini CLI, Anthropic’s Claude Code, or OpenAI’s Codex.
Well, I’m almost done with the project and it’s working remarkably well. I can use natural language to ask the AI agent to analyze my data and receive well-organized, useful reports that speed up the debugging and/or editing process. I’ll be publishing the new scripts, etc. in the coming days in comments to the original tips post but I would very much like to add a paragraph to the beginning of my first post (perhaps highlighted in some way) to indicate that what I have published is no longer merely a cleanup tool but is now a more comprehensive tool for getting assistance from agentic AI.
For that reason, could you please reopen the editing on my original post? I won’t replace it entirely but, as I indicated above, I would like to add a note to the beginning to indicate that the scope of the project has been expanded to the use of agentic AI.
Thanks!
