I am convinced that a few months back when I sent a “newshortcut” (Install Link) app link for one of my Publisher Pro Apps, to someone who doesn’t have AppSheet installed, they would be prompted to download AppSheet. This does not appear to be happening any more and the App opens in a browser instead. Some of you may know that certain features, namely NFC or QR Scanning fields do not function in a browser environment, they MUST have AppSheet present on the device.
Can anyone confirm if anything has changed? Any help would be appreciated.
FWIW: I recently l observed what I thought was this situation. It turns out the user had dismissed the initial prompt to install the AppSheet native app, and then their subsequent uses of the install link simply opened the app in the browser. In this case, they then installed AppSheet from the app store and after that they were able to access the app from with AppSheet.
Unfortunately I’m not getting the any resolution to this problem from tech support. They are saying it’s to do with default browsers etc. but I have checked all that and it is not working. I think I replied via email to this but I’ll do it here too. I appreciate that this may well work but because the whole point of the Publisher Pro App link is that anyone can access Appsheet with one click or tap or QR scan, I can’t be giving instructions to change settings before they do this.
Is it just me in the whole world that has spotted this problem? I can’t believe it is! My guess is, this is to do with the rivalry between Apple and Google and Apple are blocking this from working!..just my cynical view!
I really need a solution to this or for someone to tell me I’m doing something wrong!!!
I have a few appsheet apps on my iphone. I have appsheet app installed and I have shortcuts to each app on the homescreen.
Today I sent an install link to myself for yet another appsheet app. It only opens in browser. I have the appsheet app installed so I don’t know why it would not automatically open in the app.
When I open the appsheet app I can only see the last app I had opened. I used to have the option of opening any one of the apps in my appsheet account but that has since gone.
So, now my users are in the same situation your users are in.
