Problems with Visual Inspection AI on the "skills" platform

Hi all,

As some of us do, I’ve been doing some of October’s Arcade Games.
In the “Work Meets Play: AI Assured” Game there are two labs (GSP895 and GSP897) that require enabling the Visual Inspection AI API, then creating a dataset…

On Tuesday, It was easy to enable the API, but impossible to then create a dataset.

Today, 23 October 2025, I can’t even access the Visual Inspection AI to enable it.

Is there anyone else who’s been “enjoying” this situation, or have most of you been able to complete the labs? @Yugali can you shed any light on this?

I ran into the same issues. I was able to locate the Visual Inspection AI API within “API & Services” in the GCP console and enable it yesterday. But the Visual Inspection AI service can no longer be found. I know it used be under “Artificial Intelligence” but is no longer there to be found.

Google Skills Support have let me know that they’ve got people working on the issue :sweat_smile:

I just checked and both of those labs no longer have a “required” label. Also, I notice I was awarded the badge corresponding to the game retroactively on October 24. I guess they realized that they wouldn’t be able to fix the issue before the game closes.

It seems others are experiencing the same issue with the Visual Inspection AI API—initially it could be enabled but dataset creation failed, and now access to the API itself is blocked. This appears to be a temporary platform issue, and reaching out to support or the lab coordinator (@Yugali) is the best way to get updates on when the labs will be fully accessible.
