Problem editing detail view from a view within a dashboard

Has anyone noticed that you cant seem to edit the detail view of a view that is inside a dashboard? i have noticed this since about 2 years ago. Only now just trying to figure out if this is a bug in Appsheet or im doing something wrong.

To replicate :

Make a dashboard view. make a Deck view. Add deck view to dashboard. When you click an an item in the deck view from the dashboard, it takes you to a mysitirius system generated view you cant edit. Even if you click on the Go to view button at the botom of the preview window in the appsheeet editor. if you click on the go to view button it just takes you to the dasboard edit menu.

please advice.

Depending on WHEN/HOW you created the datasource used in your Deck View, there is, in most cases, a system generated Detail view is also created automatically. I have noticed, in certain circumstances, that when adding datasources - such as a Slice - not all system views are automatically generated. In these cases, AppSheet uses an “on the fly” generated view when user activity requires that type of view.

If you have this situation and wish to custom configure a view, then you simply need to add it manually. AppSheet will use it by default instead of any system generated or the “on the fly” views. In YOUR case, create a Detail view that uses the SAME datasource as the Deck View. Then when you tap a row, it will be opened in your custom view. NOTE: if you have more the ONE view that matches the datasource and view type, AppSheet will simply use the first one in the list.

WHY is no system view automatically created? I think this in response to complaints many years ago of a bunch of unused system views getting generated with no way to remove them. Deleting them just caused them to be regenerated on the app save. What situations DON’T automatically generate views? I have yet to figure this out.

I hope this helps
