Preview chart changes

Hi,

Just out of curiosity, were there any changes made to preview program charts?. I’ve noticed some changes to pie and donut charts that seem to have changed a few things in the labels. Screenshots with pro hand written titles below.

So this is a simple expense tracker donut, however just noticed today that the labels on the sections have changed.

  1. Colour, but not really an issue

  2. Readability. As you can see in the old pic, which was taken mid feb 2022, and the current new one, march 2022. there’s a huge difference. the labels are cut or not shown at all and seem to have a square large padding or margin (not really sure which is which) while the old one had a narrower margin.

I understand this is preview and work in progress stuff, so just wanted to say if something was changed, it didn’t really make it better.

Hope they’re adjusted soon

Not the wrong place; you’ll just get the problem to the right people faster by going through Support in this case.

I noticed some changes, although I use bar chart, not donut.

But there were changes for sure.

Now, since it’s on preview, we can expect it to have bugs and things like that.

We recently upgraded the charting library we are using which is why you are seeing visual changes in your charts. I apologize for not flagging this in the Release Notes, I didn’t realize some of the changes would be more dramatic, but I will make sure to add a note for dependency upgrades in the future! I’ll go ahead and see if I can tweak some of the padding/margins so more of the labels are shown.
