Is anyone else seeing the same errors recently? We got a report from our clients, claiming they are not able to open the PDF file which could have been generated by the BOT. We have done nothing to the app definition recently, but the logs are showing the process to generate PDF files are constant…

Sorry, I found error message in the log, which says like this Error Message Error encountered in step with name [New step]: Error: Task: ‘New step Task - 5’ Template Type: ‘Body’ could not be read due to Google drive Rate Limiting Exception while reading docid=Unknown

Thank you for reporting, @Koichi_Tsuji . Sharing this information with the team. Apologies for the inconvenience this is causing you.

That’s essentially what all those 429 errors were about: excessive connections. At least the error makes sense now.

A fix for that did go out on Tuesday, @Koichi_Tsuji are you still seeing new occurrences of this? Edit: I’m hearing now that the fix that already went out might not address this particular error, but a more general fix is in the pipeline which we expect should address it if the first one didn’t.

HI @Adam-google I just re-run the automation to test, but unfortunately the problems seem to be still persisting. More than 50% of the case, the bot failed to generate the PDF…. with the same error. See the screenshot from the log. [2025-09-12_06-19-08]

@Adam-google Another thing I noticed is when this type of error message occur, no email notification was sent to the owner of the app while we “Enable Audit History alerts”. When other type of errors happen, we receive the notification as usual.

@Koichi_Tsuji as Adam mentioned - we originally pushed a fix for a narrower case (retry delay for a specific API path) on Tuesday, thinking that was the extent of the issue based on the reports that we received / were escalated, but yes this does appear to be a broader issue. We have a categorical f…

Also adding that yes, we’re looking at why this error would not log/notify as would be expected.

Thank you @Trevor_Ryland for following up with the issue. Once again, I re-run the automation, assuming it will generated 8 PDFs at a time, but 6 of them failed. Presumably, new fix yet released or still planned? [image]
