openldap error while installing opdk 4.16.01 - ldap_sasl_bind(SIMPLE): Can't contact LDAP server (-1)

I am seeing seeing the below error message while apigee LDAP is getting configured part of OPDK 4.16.01.

ldap_sasl_bind(SIMPLE): Can’t contact LDAP server (-1)

Error: OpenLDAP password could not be changed

I see that the status of openldap status is OK. However there are connect problems.

  • apigee-service apigee-openldap status apigee-service: apigee-openldap: OK

Can anyone suggest what could be causing the installation script to fail at openldap?

@khphani Last time I saw something like this I found that I was binding to the private network interface when I expected the public network interface. Perhaps that is happening in your situation as well.
