Getting started with Apigee
Individuals frequently want to set up a small Apigee instance for learning, experimentation, or testing specific scenarios. The Pay-as-you-go option offers a simple, immediate, and low-cost way to get started with Apigee, suitable for many use cases. For other scenarios, Apigee also offers time-limited free trials, typically 60 days, after which the instance will be deleted.
Current Clean-up Activity
To maintain an efficient and healthy platform, Apigee regularly removes expired trial organizations. Users are notified in advance through an in-product banner. Due to various factors, the removal of some older trial organizations was postponed, but is now being actively addressed.
Importantly, Apigee Edge trial organizations are subject to immediate removal, regardless of age or activity. If you are still using one of these, we apologize for the disruption, but the organization will be removed soon. If you can still access your organization, you may wish to extract and export the configuration of proxies, products and so on. We suggest that you act quickly, as your configuration data will be permanently deleted once your organization is removed.
Please note that trial organizations are intended for temporary evaluation and are subject to expiration. Here are some recommendations that we would like for you to consider if you are using trial organizations

- Transition to Apigee X PAYG: If you need ongoing access to an Apigee environment, consider migrating to our PAYG model. This cost-effective solution allows you to scale resources as needed.
- Regularly Monitor Your Organizations: Stay informed about the status of your trial organizations and any relevant updates.
Communication and Notification
Please note that the removal process only applies to trial instances - either current Edge or X trail organizations. Apigee X organizations created through the Pay-as-you-go option are not affected and remain accessible as long as they are in use.
Before removing any trial organization, we strive to notify users through an in-product banner when they access the organization.
