I have created an app and data for a client and am looking to hand over the ability to manage the app and data to the client. Aside from the client logging in with my Google account, how would I give them this ability to manage the app, data and appsheet plan?
Was thinking to create a new Google account and transfer all of it to that account, but I’m not sure how to do this.
Hello @Adaga, welcome back to the community!!
You can refer to the below article for instructions on how to proceed ahead with the transfer of the application.
I trust the solution shared by my dear colleague @Shourya_Tomar helps!
If it works for you, please take a moment to mark it as the accepted solution. Doing this helps keep our forum organized and makes it much easier for other creators facing the exact same challenge to find the answers they need.
The app transfer article is the right starting point, but I would separate three things before handing this over:
the AppSheet app ownership
the data source ownership, like Google Sheets/Drive/SQL access
the billing/plan ownership
Transferring the app alone does not always move the underlying data files or billing setup the way people expect. Before the handoff, make sure the client account owns or has durable admin access to the data source, then transfer/copy the app to them, then confirm the plan/subscription from their account.
Also, definitely do not have the client use your Google login. Even temporarily, that usually creates a messy ownership/security problem later.
Hey, just following up to see if you had still an issue with the transfer. I actually did this exact same thing but between my own personal account and work account and it was successful.
