Need backend help: How to change an existing table's Data Source without copying data or rebuilding?

Hi AppSheet Community!

I am running into a UI limitation and could really use some backend assistance or a viable workaround.

For context, my account holds an active subscription with 6 Core licenses.

The Scenario:
To properly apply my paid licenses, my account must remain the App Owner. However, the app writes data to a client’s Smartsheet file. Currently, the table uses my default account connection (smartsheet). For audit purposes, the client requires all edits in Smartsheet to show as coming from their account. They can´t buy Appsheet licenses for some reason, that is why I host them.

I have successfully added a secondary data source authenticated with the client’s email, which is named smartsheet-2.

The Roadblock:
I just need to point the existing table to smartsheet-2. However, as shown in the attached screenshot (highlighted in yellow), the Data Source field in the table settings is locked as static text; it is not a dropdown menu.

I cannot use the currently available alternatives:

“Copy Data to New Source”: I’m afraid creating a cloned sheet would break all of the client’s existing external Smartsheet workflows.

Deleting and rebuilding the table: I strongly want to avoid deleting the table and re-adding it via smartsheet-2, as this would break all my existing UX views, Virtual Columns, and Actions, forcing a massive manual rebuild.

My Request:
Is there a supported workaround to switch this connection? If not, could an AppSheet engineer manually update the backend configuration of my table to point to the smartsheet-2 Data Source?

App Name: Checklist recepción

Table Name: CHECK_LIST_RECEPCIÓN_CARGA_MARÍTIMO_SKULOTE

Target Data Source needed: smartsheet-2

Any help to avoid rebuilding the entire app structure would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Maximiliano
