Monthly Comparison to previous period fails

I have a data source in google sheets with monthly values. One column with the first of the month as date and some columns with dimensions and metrics.

For some reason when i compare to previous period it shoes “no data” when the previous period has more days than the current (it shows no data for June, September, November.. same for Feb 2024 vs previous year bc leap days).

The data is shown for the correct dates in the actual KPI-Scorecard for January, but the Comparison to previous period in February fails.

What causes this and how can I prevent it?

The issue was me assuming previous period would compare February to January, but it compares the 1. - 28. of February with the 4. - 31. of January. As i had the data aggregated to the first of each month it didn’t find any data to compare with.

yeah right, previous period metric compares by number of days and not previous month.

But any idea on how we can set up previous month comparison dynamically ??
