I was just wondering if there are other approach/option for imap-to-google mail migration in gogoel wokrspace? An option is available already but its very tedious since we need to input (as google admin) all the use email and password (which we dont have and is not ideal to be placed on a cvs file - as it is against security policy). i am hoping Google has other option besides this that will do server to server mail migration.

@rabrenica playing devil’s advocate, what other options are possible?
Say I have a server running IMAP. Users Auth with Basic auth for IMAP.
How is Google going to Auth any different than the users do and without know the password in cleartext?
There are certainly possibilities such as something where Google could work with mail server providers for some other auth mechanism but why would they when a list of users and passwords in a CSV works.
As admin, what you could do is declare a maintenance windows, change everyone’s passwords, create the CSV with the password, do the migration, and they start using their workspace accounts which you’ve already gotten then activated on, their 2SV is enforced, etc. and voila. -KAM
