When I logged in for the first time since the migration—today, October 25, 2025—I’ve lost all my historical data, including:
Past posts and replies (e.g., threads on bot email issues and Google Drive integrations).
Direct messages (DMs) with other users and support.
Badges, likes, and reputation points earned over time.
I was never prompted to migrate my account data during the transition, and I’m now starting from scratch with a seemingly new profile. This is particularly frustrating as the historical context from my posts helps me reference past solutions for ongoing app maintenance in my business.
Is there a way to recover or restore my historical data?
I understand your frustration with losing your historical data after the community platform migration. While the migration was meant to transfer all user content, it seems something went wrong with your account. Since this is a technical, account-specific issue, the best path forward is to contact AppSheet Support directly, as the community forum is not the correct channel for this type of request.
What you should do:
Contact AppSheet Support: Navigate to the official AppSheet Help Center at AppSheet Help to submit a support ticket.
Provide context: In your support request, provide as much detail as possible, including:
Your previous and current usernames.
The date you logged in and noticed the data loss (October 25, 2025).
A link to your original post on the developer forums, which helps confirm the timeline.
The types of data you’ve lost (posts, replies, DMs, badges, likes).
Check for old emails: Review your inbox for any communications from AppSheet about the July 2025 migration. Any information in these emails might help the support team.
The support team can investigate why your profile data didn’t fully migrate and may be able to assist with a restoration.
Here is the direct link to the AppSheet Support page https://support.google.com/appsheet/gethelp
What to do on that page:
Submit a case: Look for a “Contact us” or similar link on the page and submit a detailed support case.
Include context: Be sure to reference the migration, the date you noticed the data loss (October 25, 2025), your original username, and a link to your forum post.
Specify missing data: List the types of data you’ve lost, including posts, DMs, badges, and likes, to ensure they can investigate the full scope of the problem.
Exactly wrong. The poster’s problem is a community forum one, not an AppSheet one. The poster’s account is their community forum account, not their AppSheet account. AppSheet Support has no control over community forum accounts. The poster would correctly seek help in Site Feedback.
It will indeed be great if historical data is restored and DM option is enabled again.
I also have a feeling that many of the erstwhile community members have not rejoined this new community after migration. I have of course no statistical data to say so but number of daily posts seem to have substantially reduced of late.
Yes, AI is definitely playing a role in reduced posts because many questions AI could be answering. However request you to evaluate measures such as say an email campaign to reach out to erstwhile community members who have not joined the new community platform.
We did 2 email campaigns prior to the migration with the 2nd one within days of the migration.
Andrew stated in this site feedback topic that DMs work only from Google Staff to users (you can reply back to the message). Limiting DMs was done at the urging of the legal/privacy teams to limit the potential for spam/abuse in user to user DMs.
We agree that AI is definitely playing a role in the reduction of posts and we are monitoring it,
Yes I am sure there were email campaigns before. My request is to evaluate one more campaign feasibility or any such measure to increase community member participation.
Thank you. However I had some suggestions in this regard that Andrew had also mentioned were relevant ones in another post as referred below. Please take a look at the post.
