Lost access to my project

Hi community. I lost owner access to my project and I can’t find any information on how to restore it. I’m looking for my website and connected services, everything works fine, but when I try to configure, I can’t find my project in the cloud console.

Please, can someone help me restore it?

Hello @Dmytriy_Ned,

Can you something interesting here ?

Yes, i see another my projects but not project I needed

What about the resources pending deletion page ?

Empty list in pending for deletion. Today in console I pushed “fix credential issues” proposed by google and after that project disappeared.

Do you mean that you applied code using gemini-cli ?

If you’re working alone on the project and did not set a parent ressource (ex : folder, org) where you’re admin, you may have nuked the only credentials your project had (yours) and now, only GCP Support can fix it.

You may have to take look at your Billing Account. Do not disable it until you got the situation sorted or you may completely wipe your project.

While billing is disabled on a project, some resources might be deleted and might not be fully recoverable. Learn about data deletion on Google Cloud.

Any type of support is not available for me, only community:

You do not currently have access to technical phone support.

You don’t have permission to file tech-related support cases

You should check how to Purchase a Support Service. You will have to create an Organisation Ressource that should (have) be(en) the parent ressource of your initial project. Until then, your project is now an Orphaned Project.

I solved my problem using the billing account. I added another member as the owner of the billing account and after that this new member got full access to all the projects associated with. After that I added the desired user as the owner and regained my access.

Thanks for your help

P.S. Always create two different users to have access to your projects.

Glad to read this, @Dmytriy_Ned

Surprising as it may be, that’s how GCP works. I see it as security by design.

To ensure that you wont ever be in this situation again, I encourage you to take a look at GCP Ressource Hierarchy and the Best practices for planning accounts and organisations.

Thanks a lot for guides and help!
