Preview announcements

Preview feature releases enable you to try out new app features that are not yet fully supported. See Product launch stages.

  • No new preview features were released today.

The following tables summarize the preview features that are currently available.

Item Description
Feature AppSheet apps for desktop users (Preview)

The new desktop design, currently in preview, is optimized for desktop browsers, presenting a more complete view of information with a consistent organization and structure. The new desktop design lets users navigate their apps more easily and access information in context, and provides an efficient way to edit existing records without losing context. The legacy desktop design, enabled by default, provides an experience similar to the mobile and tablet device.

For more information, see:

- Community article
- Optimize the user experience using the new desktop design (Preview)

In addition, the AppSheet preview program lets app creators try out new app features that are not yet fully supported. For more details and to opt-in, see AppSheet preview program.

Hi and thank you for you daily reporting §

Please do not hesitate to report to the devs the feature ideas. A lot of updates recently, I only hope the best suggestions of the community will become real someday. Have a nice day !

OK, I’ll bite! I don’t understand what this feature release is?

There is a problem with Looker Studio

“We were not able to find the data source associated with this component. This can happen when a data source is deleted.”

Are the events covered only data changes on the AppSheet Database UI?

I have created two apps with the same AppSheet Database Table as the data source.
I have set up Automation to trigger an ASDB update in App A.
I then changed the data in the B app, but Automation in App A did not work.

When I change the data on ASDB, Automation in A app works.

If this is only for changes on ASDB, then I think the use case is limited.
I think there are few cases where data changes are usually made on the AppSheet Database.

On the other hand, if it is possible to run Automation for apps that use the same ASDB as a data source, it would be a great feature.

I for one look forward to future feature improvements.

@prog I’m having the same problem. All my reports that are using Appsheet as data source are now showing the error.

@baba_sawane - Thank you! The team has been actively reviewing the feature ideas… We will definitely add an update to the release notes as feature ideas are addressed.

@scott192 - You can now trigger an event if an update is made to the AppSheet database directly in the AppSheet database editor (and not through the app). Does that make sense or help? You might try stepping through the quick start.

@takuya_miyai - Yes, this is specific to updates in the AppSheet database editor. I’ll run your use case by the team.

@prog and @sak - I’ll check with the team, but it might be more expedient to open a ticket with the Support team. Thank you!
