Rollout changes

Item Description
Bug Fixed a bug where expanding a drilled-down view in a dashboard could cause most of the options to disappear after returning to the dashboard. This fix will be rolled out gradually.

New: Deployed to all users.
Previous: Deployed to 100% of free users and 75% of paid users.

Enhancement Localization settings will now apply to action names when not using a Display Name

Although localization settings show options to localize Add, Edit and Delete, localization was only being applied to Delete actions (where it would also override Display Name). This update will begin to apply localization to other action names as well, making it less tedious to customize the system generated Add and Edit actions (which currently requires updating the Display Name for every table). Display Name, if provided, will now override the Action name for all actions including Delete (whether localized or not). Note that if a Display Name is provided, it will be used directly without attempting further localization.

New: Deployed to 100% of free users and 25% of paid users.
Previous: Deployed to 100% of free users.

Hi @lizlynch

Is it possible to make the search run on content as well?

For example if I want to update a text I entered, I can’t look for it.

Thanks for considering

@Aurelien - Passing this on! Thanks for the suggestion!

Great, the search bar has been added to the Localization page in the app editor.
It would also be nice to have a mechanism that would copy the definitions from one application and be able to dump them into another.

Very Minor change. But can significantly enhance overall usability. Thanks to the developers.

This would be really helpful in behaviours tab.

@lizlynch Thanks… I noticed search localization working on mobile well but on my desktop mode it adds the View Name to the search bar, double up.

I use Context view to add different terms for each view.

On authors view I have it say Search Authors for example, which works nicely on mobile, but on desktop its adding the view name again…

I think it’s a great default to do this on desktop but not if we have set a custom message. If I didn’t use different names on different views I suppose it wouldn’t matter much especially used as a language translation… But we use it for alot more than that to overcome obstacles and custom client requests…

@Aurelien that’s a good idea I’ll make it do that.

@Rifad I’m not sure I follow - there’s a search on the behaviours tab already so I think I’m just not understanding you

@Denzil_Snyman This post is regarding a search for localizations for the app creator, I think from the screenshot that’s an issue inside the apps themselves? I’ll pass that along but it’s a different thing than this just fyi.

@Denzil_Snyman hm interesting, do you use the Context view to add terms that are not the view name?

The only reason I did this was on mobile my clients asked to have the Word “Search Authors(s)” in the mobile view.

On desktop it automatically adds the view name “Author(s)” after the word Search but not on Mobile.

So using localization is only workaround we had. Not expecting the desktop view to still do it after the user has a custom expression in place.

@Denzil_Snyman I see. A potential issue with adding the view name when you localize “Search” is “Search” is also being used in the Dropdown and Enum search bars as well, so I’m hesitant to make this change. We are coming out with a new mobile mode soon that will have the same behavior as Desktop - hopefully this would replace the need of customizing the Search message

@amyplin Thank you for your response, I do feel an uptick in response rate from staff and it is refreshing..

Please do give some details or announcements if you can for a new mobile mode, it would go a long way to motivate us users… That’s if you are allowed to… :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: :slightly_smiling_face:

@Denzil_Snyman We will be sharing an announcement when it goes to Public Preview hopefully in the next couple of weeks!
