Is 'Restricted' permission sufficient for GSC data source in Looker Studio?

I am planning to grant Google Search Console (GSC) account permissions to pull data into Looker Studio.

I would like to know if assigning a ‘Restricted’ user role is effectively the same as ‘Full’ or ‘Owner’ roles for the purpose of retrieving data.

Are there any specific limitations or missing data fields in Looker Studio if I use a ‘Restricted’ account instead of ‘Full’?

Thanks.

Hey,

Hope you’re keeping well.

In Google Search Console, a Restricted user can only view performance data and certain reports, while Full users have access to all reports, settings, and historical data. When connecting GSC to Looker Studio, a Restricted account will still allow you to pull basic performance metrics (clicks, impressions, CTR, position), but you will not be able to access indexed page data, crawl stats, or use filters that require additional permissions. If you need the complete set of GSC dimensions and metrics in Looker Studio, use a Full user role on the property. You can check or change roles in GSC under Settings > Users and permissions before creating the data source.

Thanks and regards,
Taz
