I have an app to collect info in iPads. They require a couple of signatures on the iPad. We’re getting weird results on a few of the signatures. Most of the time they are saved as images, and about 3-4% of the time they disappear after the record is saved. In a few cases, I can see them on the desktop version of Appsheet even though they won’t appear on the iPad when you review that record. All iPads are synced to the “cloud” each day and all signatures should be uploaded but a few go missing.
There’s also an issue occasionally where the screen goes blank when you click on a signature field, or the field won’t respond allowing for a signature.
The iPads are 8th generation (circa 2020). I’m wondering if they just don’t have enough resources to handle the load of the graphics. Has anyone experienced this problem before?

A few questions:
1) How many signature images is the app dealing with?
2) Is "offline mode" enabled on the app?
3) How is the Image column configured for storing of the images? A screenshot of the column config is best.
If the apps is attempting to handle thousands of images, there could be a performance issue - especially if the app is complex and performing many complex/slow operations as it a user navigates or Sync’s the app. If your app size is reaching this threshold, then you may want to consider implementing Security Filters.
Offline mode is a feature where ALL data content is stored on the device. If users lose connection, use the app and don’t perform necessary Sync’s when connection is re-established, there is a possibility that context is NOT downloaded and not available in the app. This can be fixed by simply re-Syncing once the app has good connection again.
The storage location configured within the column is important for performance. Attempts to manually manage the storage locations, while possible, many times results in slower performance to traverse the necessary links and may result in missed attempts to load content. I don’t do this so not sure on the remedies only aware of some issues as posted by others.
I have two signatures in the parent record, and possibly one signature in each of two child records for each master record.
All signatures are collected on ipads that are in airplane mode in the field as they don’t have cell service, only wireless. We sync those when they get back into the office and reconnect to wireless
We are also collecting up to eight photos in child records for each job, but none in the parent record other than the two signatures.
