I am working on a very simple inventory app. I love the functionality of it so far. No issues.
I’ve had a request for some sort of Dashboard that shows a chart for “items we have the most of” and/or “items by category that we are running low on”. I have not been able to get this work in Chart form.
I’ve been able to create two Views that are in a Dashboard in the Primary Navigation that are basically just lists. Not really helpful and not what the User wants. This is what they look like:
Here are the settings for the Most Stocked Items View:
Show Action Bar is toggled off and none of the settings below that are all at default values.
If I try to change this view from Deck to Chart, the only options I have for the columns are Quantity and _RowNumber.
I’m not sure how to proceed. If anyone has functionality like this and can point me in the right direction, even to the tutorial they used to make it happen, that would be great. If I have left out any pertinent info, please let me know. Thanks for reading!

You could create 2 table views , one that sorts the records by [Quantity] ascending for least stocked items and other one that sorts the records descending for the least stocked items.
Thanks for your reply! Changing from Deck to Table view doesn’t get the user to the “chart” or “graph” he’s looking for. He definitely does not want any kind of list. He wants a visual, and that’s what I’m having trouble making happen. I have tried to make a pie chart that shows Quantity by Category and I can’t because Category isn’t an option for me to choose.
Thank you for the update.
I believe AppSheet charts are of basic nature and as such you may not have a drill down option based on category. However if you are willing to have user select a category and then the user can see most stocked or least stocked items for that category in a chart, then I may suggest an approach. However , please note that within the chart, there are no great sub options to sort the chart from highest value to a lowest value ( say quantity in your case)
Please let me know.
May we know if the app is multi user or single user?
If the app is multi user, is there a Users table that has one record per user with user’s email as one column?
