Intermittent PDF Generation Failure in AppSheet Bots

Hello everyone,

We are still experiencing intermittent issues with PDF generation in AppSheet Bots using Google Docs attachment templates.

The issue seemed to be temporarily resolved, but today it started happening again.

Current behavior

  • Bots execute normally in the audit logs

  • However, PDF reports are not generated

  • Because of this, emails with PDF attachments are not delivered

This issue is affecting multiple applications and multiple clients on our side.

Additional observation

During the same timeframes when the failures occur, we noticed messages related to:

  • RestApiAuthorizationCheck

appearing in the audit logs of some affected applications.

We already have an open support case with AppSheet and the issue has been escalated to their specialist team, but we would like to know:

  • Is anyone else currently experiencing this behavior?

  • Has anyone identified a workaround or possible root cause?

  • Could the RestApiAuthorizationCheck messages be related to the PDF generation failures?

The issue appears intermittently and affects operations for several hours at a time, so any information would be greatly appreciated.

I just checked and the ticket for this issue is still open. I have requested for an update.

I will keep you posted.

I am having this pdf generated issue with broken images randomly these few days. Have to regenerate many times to get the images showing. Today is the worst, it happen to many files.

Hi this was resolved, google support team explained that during that few days period could be due to poor network, now all is working fine, thank you.

Apparently, the issue has been resolved for now. We have not experienced any similar problems again up to this moment.

However, we are still waiting for an official response from AppSheet Support explaining exactly what happened, since no clear root cause has been provided yet.

According to the support team, the case is still under investigation by their specialist team.

We will share any updates here if we receive more information from them.
