I am writing regarding the notification I received below concerning the required migration for Google Apps Script (GAS). I have a few questions regarding the impact of the deadline:
If the necessary migration tasks are not completed within January, will the affected GAS projects become permanently unusable from February onwards?
Alternatively, even if we miss the January 31st deadline, will the scripts become executable again if we perform the migration work after February 1st?
I would appreciate it if you could clarify these points.

Thank you for using Google services. We are reaching out again to notify you of upcoming changes to Apps Script and how they will affect script execution for some users in your organization. The Rhino runtime will no longer be available after January 31, 2026.
This notice relates to the emails sent on February 18, 2025, August 27, 2025, and October 2, 2025.

Impact on Your OrganizationKey Changes:
Since February 2020, all newly created Apps Script projects have defaulted to the V8 runtime. We have identified that some older Apps Script projects in your organization are still using the Rhino runtime. These must be migrated to the V8 runtime by January 31, 2026.
Benefits of Migrating to V8:
Access to Modern JavaScript Features: Supports the latest JavaScript standards, allowing developers to use powerful new language features.
Enhanced Security and Stability: Provides a more robust and secure runtime environment.
Consequences:
Any Apps Script projects that have not been migrated to the V8 runtime by January 31, 2026, will no longer execute after that date.
Action Required
The support for the Rhino runtime will end after January 31, 2026. To ensure a smooth transition before support ends, we recommend starting the migration process as soon as possible.
To facilitate this migration, we have identified all Apps Script projects within your domain currently using the Rhino runtime. Please review the attached PDF and CSV files and coordinate with your script developers to migrate the affected projects.
