Inconsistent Embedded Media Playback When Accessing From External Links Any Ideas?

Hi all,

I’m often working with web content that includes embedded media (video players, interactive content, etc.), and I’ve run into a frustrating issue with inconsistent playback behavior across devices and environments. Specifically, when users navigate to a linked page containing embedded media from external sources or applications, the videos sometimes load fine on desktop but fail to start reliably on mobile browsers — even after clearing cache or switching browsers. Interestingly, when testing the same content directly in regular browsers, the media plays without problems.

For real‑world examples of this behaviour, sites like (URL Removed by Staff) (which include embedded players for media content) seem to work normally in browser tests across platforms, yet inconsistent playback still shows up when accessed from certain environments or referrers.

Has anyone else encountered issues like this with embedded media playback depending on how the page was accessed? Are there known settings, CSP configurations, or embed patterns that improve cross‑platform reliability for video players?

Thanks in advance for any insights
