In your title you mention “restricted audience” and then in the post you mention “I want my customers to be signing up”.
This can mean a couple of things:
#1) Allow any POTENTIAL customer to sign-up to use the app on their own.
#2) Only allow paid customers access to the app but then have them register providing all their pertinent contact details.
Option #1 is much less secure - basically anyone getting a link to the app can sign-up. Option #2 is secure but requires adding users to the app white-list - i.e. list of allowed users.
Which option did you have in mind?
