I am trying to remove my account from a dead project I’m not the owner of. Can’t find any way to do this, or even to raise a ticket to do it (from a human not a chatbot).
Might need some more details, but this dead project you mention are you just trying to remove yourself from IAM?
Basically I am trying to disconnect from another project not owned by me, or above all know it won’t affect any of my own billing or quotas. I can’t believe there is no way to remove my account from someone else’s project or even remove from my list. I can give details of the project.

I assume you already contacted the owner of that “dead project”/organization the project lives under? If not that might be a way forward for them to not just remove you from the projects IAM but also confirm if any of your billing information is tied to it.
One thing you can do real quick is go into the “Select a Project” icon and go under the All tab and see if that project you’re looking for shows up.
If you want to verify that your current billing account is tied to that project you can go to your Google Cloud Console then navigate to Billing > Manage Billing Accounts > Your Projects tab . Under the Your Projects tab you will see all projects currently tied to your billing account.
Since this is a billing related question as well, if you aren’t able to get confirmation from the original owner that none of your billing information is tied to the project you might need to reach out to Google Cloud Billing Support who might be able to better help you Google Cloud Billing Support.
