You only need to open port 1433 if you’re connecting to Looker, not Looker Studio: Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) | Looker | Google Cloud
The Looker Studio to SQL Server docs are slightly different, and they have instructions for getting through a firewall: Connect to Microsoft SQL Server | Looker Studio | Google Cloud
Hope this helps!
Hi,
As I see in the docs you provided, I need to allow IP 142.251.74.0/23 of Looker Studio. Surely it’s against our security policy. I need a solution like agent or gateway from Looker, similar to PowerBI gateway.
Hm, I see what you mean. I think this is possible using a Looker (Google Cloud core) instance, as described in these docs: Access external services using private services access | Looker | Google Cloud
But I don’t think it’s possible with Looker Studio as-is.
