How to import or add new currencies in Looker Studio?

One of my customers is gonna start working with us in a few days, and he is from Paraguay. Their currency is “Guarani (PYG)” which writes like “₲ 1.307,85” (example number)

I noticed that it does not appear in the currency list of Looker Studio, AND, If i change the currency in GA4 itself, only "whole” metrics will be affected - but not calculated fields.

How do I even add currencies to the Looker Studio? Better yet, why wasnt it included yet?

this is a problem, I don’t think we can import currencies.

Hey,

Hope you’re keeping well.

Looker Studio doesn’t currently allow adding custom currencies or extending the built‑in currency list, so unsupported currencies like Guarani (PYG) won’t display with native formatting. For calculated fields, you can work around this by keeping the numeric values as-is and applying a custom text format using CONCAT or FORMAT functions to append the ₲ symbol and adjust decimal separators manually. If your GA4 data is already in PYG, you can also create a conversion step in the data source or via BigQuery before feeding it into Looker Studio, ensuring consistent display across metrics and calculated fields. You may want to submit a feature request through the Looker Studio issue tracker so the product team is aware of the need for full PYG support.

Thanks and regards,
Taz

For real. Almost 2026 and not having this feature, SMH

Bigquery is out of question, no one in the company know how to use it. CONCAT works BUT, it does not let the numbers come out with the decimals. FORMAT is not being accepted by Looker Studio.

GA4 is already in PYG, but not calculated fields.

And to make things worst, there are a lot of calculated fields from different data sources that I cant get a clue on HOW to adapt to PYG:
