How to change dashboard owner

I have 10 dashboards I will be editing, the actual owner will not maintain them anymore so I would like to change the owner so the dashboards can be under my name.

Could you give me any advise about how to change a dashboard owner?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi @JayCee_SysSas

There is no direct way to do this right now. You can try copying the dashboard or converting it to a LookML dashboard and creating it as the second owner. There is an existing request with our product team for this feature in our Pendo feedback application (71713).

Thanks @Eric_Lyons , I will try copying the dashboards as you mentioned. However it would be great to have this functionality available in Looker, it would be super helpful when teammates move from team to team and their dashboards need to be owned by different person.

It is good to know this is already a feature request.

  1. Access dashboard settings.
  2. Locate ownership or permissions section.
  3. Select dashboards to transfer.
  4. Choose new owner and confirm.
  5. Review and test new owner’s access.
  6. Notify previous owner.
  7. Update documentation.

Hi! Is this posible for my personal account to a company account?

I can’t find any option to transfer the ownership of a dashboard in “Edit dashboard”. Can you advise how to do step 1-4?
