How do I connect my app to an external API that isn't in the source list?

Hi - i’m very new here. I’m trying to build an app through AppSheet where clicking a button on the front end will call my external API and show the response.

How can I do this?

When I click on new app in AppSheet, it asks me for a source. Which option do I click on so the source is my external API?

AppSheet can only use data sources hosted by the providers listed. If your data source is hosted on a different provider, AppSheet cannot use it directly.

I did mine through Google App Script. But take note of the Quotas
