Hello, I have a Google App Engine setup that uses a Flexible Environment + custom runtime configuration.
I just noticed today when looking at my App Engine versions that there was an error / warning message regarding the custom runtime being at end of support (see image below)
My question is, how do I appropriately handle this? Are custom runtimes completely no longer supported, or is this perhaps just a visual bug? I am confused as I received no communication regarding the ending of support for custom runtimes. Thank you!
Yes, this could be a visual bug. I created a custom runtime in the App Engine flexible environment and got the same warning regarding end of support. I’ve successfully deployed the app, but it should not deploy if it is really on the end of support state. Also:
Custom runtimes are not impacted by the runtime lifecycle policy.
No email notification regarding the support schedule was provided.
Kindly check also on your end if the behavior is resolved normally as @Topher2 mentioned. But if not, you can file a bug on thepublic issue tracker so the engineering team could investigate this further.
You seem to have noticed a visual bug in one of our experimental features. This has been rolled back and fixed. As @ronnelg clarified, we have made no changes to the custom runtime lifecycle policy. So no action is needed from your end.
