Hello everyone,
especially the Google Developer Team,
I am writing to express my great disappointment with a recent update.
For background, I am one of the administrators for my organization’s Google Workspace. One of my responsibilities is monitoring Shared Drives, including managing the bin system. My role requires me to regularly review deleted files to ensure that no important documents are removed unintentionally.
Previously, when viewing the bin from a specific folder, I was able to see who had deleted (“binned”) each file. As shown in these screenshots I provided below, this feature allowed me to contact the relevant user or their supervisor to confirm whether the deletion was intentional or potentially malicious. This is especially important because files in the bin are permanently deleted automatically after 30 days.

However, after a recent update—I do not recall the exact date, but I believe it occurred sometime in 2025—this functionality appears to have been removed.
This update is terrible and has been causing me significant stress , as I now have to guess who deleted files in the bin. This makes proper monitoring and accountability nearly impossible.
I strongly request that you restore the ability to see who deleted files, or at the very least, allow administrators to view deletion activity within Shared Drives.
Please respond to this matter. I am looking forward to your help.
Thank you and best regards,
Sisca
